Five whiskies. Four places. Three hours. One very good night.
A small-group whisky evening through Manchester after dark. You could find the bars yourself. You couldn’t create this evening yourself.
£295 per person. Six guests maximum.
Book your placeAnd it isn’t a whisky tasting.
It’s an evening built around five exceptional whiskies, four of Manchester’s most interesting places, and the people you’re sharing them with.
We’ll take you somewhere beautiful. Then somewhere you probably wouldn’t find yourself. Then somewhere you definitely wouldn’t have thought to look.
Along the way you’ll drink things worth talking about, discover parts of Manchester you might have walked past a hundred times, and hear the stories behind the bottles, the city and the people who drink them.
No tasting room. No laminated tasting sheet. No one reading you the back of a bottle. Just a very good night, carefully put together.
You don’t get the full itinerary. That’s part of it.
We’ll tell you where to meet. We’ll take care of the rest. Each place is chosen for a reason: the whisky, the room, the people, the story. Some whiskies you’ll recognise. Some you won’t. One will be poured blind. The last is the bottle we’d pour for our friends.
“I’ve spent more than a decade around whiskey and hospitality in Dublin. So I have a few opinions.”
About what’s worth drinking. About what isn’t. About the difference between a bottle that’s expensive and one that’s genuinely interesting. And about how a good night should feel.
The five whiskies won’t all be Irish. They don’t need to be. Scotch, Irish, American, Japanese, independent bottlings, old favourites, new discoveries. What ties them together is simple: I’d happily pour them for my own friends.
Manchester has always had a relationship with whiskey.
The city has changed enormously. Some things haven’t changed at all. We’ll tell you a few stories along the way. Not a history lesson. Just the Manchester we know.
You’re not paying for five whiskies. You’re paying for the evening.
Five whiskies, four places, about three hours, small food pairings, one blind tasting, the Irishman’s Pick, your host throughout, and six guests at most. The route, the reservations, the bottles, and every decision made before you arrive.
You could spend an evening finding good whisky bars yourself. You could probably spend less. That’s not the point.
Absolutely. You don’t need to know anything about whisky. Curiosity is enough.
We certainly hope so. The selection is built to reward people who know their whisky as much as people meeting it for the first time.
